WEEK ONE - 4th September 2025
"Do you listen to things? [...]Why is it so hard to do the right thing?" - Systems&Materials course description.
The assignment is to observe a material and document 15 encounters with it via colour photography.
Being that my research question is more focused on the immaterial/spiritual it could be hard 2 find examples of spiritual warfare in physical form. Maybe before trying to take a street portrait of Mammon I should contextualise the field in which warfare is taking place. I suppose every infraction or spiritual assault happens when the lesser of two choices is chosen, anytime death is picked over life. This is really vague.
"EXCESSIVE APPETITE AND THE MEANS TO FULFIL IT IN PERPETUITY"
THINGS 2 SHOOT:
- fruit, rotting, fresh, eaten, chewed, shat, etc
- biblical fruit: dates, figs, olives, grape, pomegranate, apple
ye so I think this passage is relevant as it illustrates a way for us to identify whether something may be good or bad 4 us. by looking at the result of someone (or somethings) actions we can determine their intentions. this is a good place to start in terms of identifying what/who our Spiritual Enemies are. there are lots of other verses that could be of use here but this one is fairly straightforward and demonstrably true.
ye so this passage is mad to me bc it could mean two things; either Jesus was tricked by the devil into believing he could offer him the kingdoms of the world, or the devil actually was in control of the kingdoms of the world and could offer them to the Son of God. It makes more sense in my head for the second one to be true as this is the material realm and satan is a materialist. Also explains all the bizarre suffering on earth if satan is in control of it all. Why else would there be genocides, famine, disease, stock market, etc.
